Sorry Cupid, but it's time for us to put the hearts and flowers away. Now get out those clovers you've been saving and get ready for the month of luck: March! Before we get out and start hunting in the grass for those iconic and lucky four leaf clovers, let's take flight down memory lane and see what we've done!
Social Studies
We got our Explorer Projects back this month. We had to choose to make adjustments and turn it back in to get a better score, or keep it the way it is. We're also beginning a project on the 13 Colonies!
Fun Fact:
Did you know that New York, The Big Apple, was a colony?
Valentines Day:
Happy Valentines Day! As you know, the day where you show you care is this month too. Usually the Party Planners plan a party for a holiday, but instead, Ms. Paterson's let us pass out cards. It's called the Valentine's Day Card Swap.
STORYWORKS:
Remember Scholastic News? Well now we're doing something else from Scholastic. It's called STORYWORKS! We started it in "Jolly January" so shout out to Gauri for reminding me. : )
Dr. Seuss Birthday and Ms. Paterson's Baby Shower.
This may have happened in March but I think it ends February up quite nicely. On Dr. Seuss's Birthday the entire school comes to school in their pajamas and after lunch recess, we all "Stop, Drop and Read". Right around the end of lunch recess, a friend teacher: Ms. Garabetian, snuck to our classroom to get everything ready. We were planning a surprise Baby Shower for Ms. Paterson. After the decorations, Ms G shut off the lights, and left to pick up her class. We hid in there a long time. A couple of people were loud, but we kept quiet. Ms. Paterson opened the door and we surprised her. It was a complete success. Then we ate until the end of school.
