Mrs. Paterson here,
Conferences:
If you are a PARENT and have not signed up for the conferences next week, please do so IMMEDIATELY.
Classroom Economy Auction:
Classroom economy auction is coming up on Friday, September 30. This is a time when students can earn classroom dollars by selling items that they have made at home. It is a lot of fun and helps our students to grow creatively and to begin embracing the concept of business and being an entrepreneur.
I am looking forward to seeing what this year's class creates and sells!
Moreover, in this class there is an end of year auction that the students look forward to every year. Throughout the school year, students collect recycling and it gets taken to the recycling center where we receive money for the goods. That money is collected all year and at the end of the year, a select number of students and I go to Target and purchase fun stuff for the last auction of the year. The auction is only as successful as the students make it.
How Can I, as a parent help?

How Can I, as a parent help?
- Encourage your child to collect plastic bottles at home and bring in the bag to school; a large bag is worth $50 CE, and small bag $25 CE. Our class recycler's parent will collect all the bags from our classroom when we have a good amount and exchange them for real $$$.
- Glass and Aluminum is worth more than plastic, but cannot be brought on campus. So, collect them, take a picture and email it to me with your kid's name, so your child can get paid, take it to be turned into $$$ and send the cash to school with your child.
